Massive fire erupts in Ghaziabad's Khoda after transformer catches fire, vehicles gutted

GHAZIABAD: A massive fire broke out in a transformer in the Adarsh Nagar area of Khoda in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad district in the early hours of Tuesday. While no casualties were reported, four motorcycles and an autorickshaw were completely gutted in the blaze. According to Chief Fire Officer Rahul Pal, the Vaishali fire station received information about the fire at around 12.35 am, following which two fire tenders were rushed to the spot.

As drums containing mobil oil were stored nearby, two additional fire tenders and a Fire Quick Response (FQR) vehicle were rushed to the spot to prevent the fire from spreading. Firefighters laid a 700-800 metre-long hose line to bring the blaze under control. "There were no casualties; however, four motorcycles and an auto-rickshaw were completely gutted," Chief Fire Officer Rahul Pal said. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
