Mathura police recover 360 lost mobiles worth ₹1 cr in 3 mnths

Agra: Mathura police traced and returned 360 lost mobile phones valued at nearly Rs 1 crore within three months through the CEIR portal and the Surveillance Cell, officials said.The Surveillance Cell coordinated with police teams across multiple states and border districts to track the missing devices. On Tuesday, the recovered phones were handed back to their rightful owners in Mathura, while those belonging to people from other states will be sent via courier.Mathura SSP Shlok Kumar said special focus is being given to cybercrime and cyber-related issues statewide. "In this sequence, people can report to CEIR if their phone is lost. Based on reported cases, 360 mobile phones have been recovered so far. This is a small effort to bring joy to those whose phones were lost," he said.On Monday, Agra police recovered 296 lost mobile phones worth nearly Rs 44.4 lakh in a similar drive and handed them over to their owners.The Agra operation was supervised by deputy commissioner of police (City) Sonam Kumar.
