Panaji: The six temporary stalls being set up by the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) for meat traders will be ready for allocation on Aug 1, an official said.Workers are currently putting the finishing touches to the stalls. They were constructed following a Supreme Court order in Jan, directing the corporation to relocate the meat traders within the structure created for fish vendors.“We are following the process as directed by the Supreme Court and will be allocating the stalls to the meat traders by issuing them letters confirming their occupation,” said corporator Bento Lorena.A temporary shed for fish vendors was set up nearly six months ago. The CCP tore down the vendors’ old market building, citing its dilapidated condition. The temporary shed was then constructed after levelling the surface and providing sewer outlets to allow the wastewater to drain into the sewers.
