Meerut: Student attacked with knife by classmate over dispute in college

A college student was severely beaten up by his classmates following a dispute at Krishak Inter College in Mawana, Meerut, on Wednesday. The entire incident was captured on a CCTV camera installed near the college caf.

According to the complaint lodged with police by the injured student’s mother, the victim, Azim, was in the classroom when he had an altercation with his classmate Danish over allegations of running a pen on Danish’s shirt. Azim denied the allegation, after which Danish began beating him inside the class and threatened him further.

Around 1 pm, when Azim stepped out of class and was having food, Danish returned with his elder brother. Both were allegedly carrying tire-cutting knives and attacked Azim. During the assault, Azim’s bag was torn and he sustained several injuries. The attackers threw him to the ground and continued to beat him.

Shopkeepers and other students present nearby intervened, managing to save Azim’s life. However, the attackers threatened him, saying he may have survived this time but would not be spared in the future.

Azim's mother has filed a written complaint at Mawana police station, demanding a case be registered, a medical examination conducted and strict action taken against the accused.
