Prathab Muniandy is a Malaysian dad who has been making headlines with a world record and a smile packed with more teeth than anyone thought possible.This 33-year-old engineer in the oil and gas industry holds the Guinness World Record for the most teeth in a person's mouth (male), with a stunning total of 42 erupted teeth, 10 more than the average 32. His achievement was officially verified on December 28, 2023, in Klang, Selangor, after exams by two dentists confirmed it, along with two additional unerupted ones, according to Guinness World Records.

He discovered his extra teeth over tea

Prathab first spotted his extra chompers casually during a 2021 family tea gathering. According to Guinness World Records reports, he mentioned it to relatives, and they counted 38 teeth right then. A dental X-ray revealed four more waiting to emerge, and by early 2023, the full 42 had arrived, mostly straight.He shared to GWR, “I first noticed this in 2021 during a family tea-time gathering, when I mentioned to my family that I seemed to have extra teeth growing.

We counted them together and found that I had 38 teeth at the time. A dental X-ray later showed that there were four more teeth that had yet to erupt. By early 2023, I realized that I had a total of 42 teeth. Fortunately, most of the teeth grew straight and without any complications”.
