Meeting presses for social and economic security of domestic workers

A meeting of domestic workers held in Mysuru on Monday highlighted their problems and urged the authorities to ensure social and economic security for them.

The Karnataka State United Domestic Workers’ Union, represented by Mysuru District Committees of All India United Trade Union Centre (AIUTUC) and All India Mahila Sanskritik Sangathan (AIMSS), who convened the meeting, have submitted a petition to the Labour Inspector, Mysuru, seeking fulfillment of their demands including the immediate setting up of a Welfare Board for Domestic Workers.
