Meghalaya horror: Teenage girl hacked to death in broad daylight; police manhunt launched

NEW DELHI: A teenage schoolgirl was fatally attacked with a machete in broad daylight at Samgong village near Williamnagar in Meghalaya's East Garo Hills district, police said on Saturday.The assault occurred in full public view, and authorities have launched a manhunt to apprehend the assailant. The motive behind the killing remains unknown, according to news agency PTI.The victim's body has been transferred to Williamnagar Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination."An investigation is underway. Police have also announced rewards for any information about the accused," a senior police officer said.Law enforcement officials are actively pursuing leads and have offered rewards for information that could help locate the perpetrator.
