Vincent Trocheck, Mika Zibanejad and Mike Sullivan talk trade deadline, Rangers' 6-3 loss to Devils
Currently, the biggest driving force behind the offense of the New York Rangers is their star center, Mika Zibanejad.
He has scored a point in six of his last 10 games and is the team leader in goals with 25 this season, with 12 of them coming on the power play. Moreover, Zibanejad's 13 goals since the start of January are among the highest in the NHL. The dominant play of Zibanejad in March is becoming a trend, as the star center has been among the best in the NHL since the 2019-20 season in goals and points in March. He is moving up the franchise scoring list and is in fifth place with 275 goals in the franchise's history.
In between the pipes, Igor Shesterkin has helped his team earn points in his last four starts. This season, Shesterkin has allowed two or fewer goals in 20 games. Among NHL starting goalies with multiple games played on the road, Shesterkin is among the best with a 2.19 GAA and .923 SV%. On the backend, Adam Fox is still the engine that makes the Rangers go in transition. Fox is just two points away from reaching the 400-point mark in his career. The Rangers have also benefited from the contributions of players like centerman Vincent Trocheck, who leads the team in winning faceoffs, and Will Cuylle, who has arguably been the most impactful young player in the league this season and is a power forward. The Rangers will look to continue relying on their stars and their success on the road in the hopes of getting another big win against the Flyers.
