Education Minister V. Sivankutty conducted a surprise inspection at the Kannur North Sub-District Education Office following complaints of delay in the regularisation of teachers in aided schools. He also directed the District Educational Officer to probe the matter and submit a report within a week.

The action came after three teachers from Varam UP school — Shubha, Anju, and Arjun — met the Minister during an event at the Munderi Government Higher Secondary School and complained that their regularisation had been pending for nearly eight years. Shubha has been working since 2017, while Anju and Arjun have been serving since 2018, all without salary and other benefits.

Mr. Sivankutty warned of strict action against Education department officials if lapses were found on their part.
