Minister Narayana assures speedy resolution of Amaravati farmers’ key grievances

AP minister P Narayana held a detailed meeting with representatives of the Amaravati farmers’ Joint Action Committee (JAC) to discuss a range of concerns affecting villages in the capital region

Vijayawada: The state govt has stepped up efforts to address the long-pending issues of farmers in the Amaravati capital region. Municipal administration and urban development minister P Narayana on Wednesday held a detailed meeting with representatives of the Amaravati farmers’ Joint Action Committee (JAC) to discuss a range of concerns affecting villages in the capital region.

The meeting was attended by APCRDA Commissioner V Vijaya Ramaraju, additional commissioners, senior officials and more than 20 representatives of the farmers’ JAC.Resolving the problems faced by farmers and addressing issues in the capital villages formed the core agenda of the meeting. The JAC representatives raised several long-pending demands, including the resolution of Gram Kantham issues, enhancement of the floor space index (FSI), registration of returnable plots allotted to land pooling farmers, prevention of garbage dumping in villages, traffic management, and improvement of road connectivity to the capital villages.Minister Narayana held detailed discussions on each issue with officials and farmer representatives. He reviewed the status of every issue and directed officials to take measures to resolve the problems at the earliest. The discussions also focused on improving civic infrastructure and ensuring that pending issues affecting residents and land pooling farmers are addressed in a time-bound manner.The minister assured the JAC representatives that the state govt is committed to resolving the concerns of Amaravati farmers and would continue to engage with them to find practical solutions.

He asked the officials to coordinate closely with the concerned departments and expedite the implementation of the decisions taken during the meeting.The farmers’ JAC representatives expressed satisfaction over the outcome of the discussions. They welcomed the positive response from the state govt and appreciated the minister’s assurance that their grievances would be addressed in a systematic manner. They said the meeting reflected the govt’s willingness to work with farmers to resolve long-pending issues and ensure the smooth development of the Amaravati capital region while safeguarding the interests of land pooling farmers.
