Roads and Buildings (R&B) Minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy inspected various ongoing development works in his constituency, Banganapalle, on Sunday and reviewed their progress.

As part of his extensive tour of the town, the Minister inspected the work being done to construct the side wall of Jurreru Vagu, as well as the walking track being developed along the stream. He asked the officials to expedite and complete the work as soon as possible. Mr. Janardhan Reddy also reviewed the construction of new shops in the vegetable market for the sale of fish and meat.

The Minister also inspected the new ‘Shadikana’ for Muslims, which is 90 per cent complete. He asked the officials to complete the construction by the end of April and make the hall available for the convenience of the minorities.

Earlier, he visited the lands identified for distribution to the poor in Owk. Providing land sites to the houseless was one of the campaign promises of the Minister, and he inspected the lands along with Revenue officials. Lands belonging to SRBC, a temple, and Endowment lands were in the identified area, and the Minister had identified alternate land to be given to the Endowments Department in lieu of the lands to be taken for distribution to the homeless poor.

Mr. Janardhan Reddy asked officials to expedite the transfer of lands to the Endowments Department at the earliest for the distribution of lands and developing a residential colony for nearly 3,500 beneficiaries. The Minister had also reviewed and inspected the development works in his own town and asked officials to complete the ongoing works on CC roads and development of drains within the stipulated time.
