Minister for Municipal Administration K.N. Nehru on Sunday asked the officials to expedite the construction of the new bus stand here.
Accompanied by Minister of Transport and Electricity S.S. Sivashankar and Collector P. Rathinasamy, Mr. Nehru held a spot review with the officials on the progress of the work.
He said that construction work of the bus stand had been taken up at an estimate of ₹7.80 crore under the Infrastructure and Facilities Fund. In the second phase, 15 shops, a nursing room, a time control room, a police control room, toilets, and others were being carried out at an estimated cost of ₹3.78 crores. Officials were asked to closely monitor the work. It would be completed as early as possible, Mr. Nehru added.
