Minor gas leak from abandoned ONGC well reported in Konaseema

A minor natural gas leak has been reported from an abandoned well of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) at Bellampudi village in P. Gannavaram mandal in Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema District on Wednesday. 

In an official release, District Collector R. Mahesh Kumar said; “The ONGC has abandoned the well, in which a residual leakage was found on Wednesday. There is no leakage of natural gas from the valve of the well. There is no need to panic.”.

Mr. Mahesh said that two fire tenders have been deployed and the ONGC rescue team is also on the task of plugging the leakage by 9 p.m.
