MLA Sridhar Reddy’s daughter Sai Vaishnavi enters politics, vows TDP win in Nellore

The sudden entry of Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy’s daughter Kotamreddy Sai Vaishnavi into politics turned heads in the Nellore district on Sunday (May 24, 2026).

Ms. Vaishnavi, who made her first public appearance at a press conference, vowed to ensure a big win for the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in the coming local body elections.

Mr. Sridhar Reddy has been undergoing treatment for a neurological complaint, and in his absence his younger brother Kotamreddy Giridhar Reddy has taken charge of monitoring development projects and party meetings. It is against this backdrop that Ms. Sai Vaishnavi’s entry has assumed political significance.

Asked whether she would be the family’s political heir for the Nellore Rural constituency, Ms. Sai Vaishnavi said it was for the party high command to name her, her father or her paternal uncle for the seat.
