KANPUR: A strange incident unfolded in Auraiya district on Tuesday, captivating the attention of residents in Bidhuna Tehsil. During a typical day, an unexpected event saw money seemingly raining from a tree, prompting people to scramble to collect the cash.

A video capturing this unusual occurrence has since gone viral on social media.Rohitash Chandra, a private teacher from Dondapur village, had arrived in Bidhuna Tehsil on Tuesday to finalise a land deal. He carried Rs 80,000 in a bag for the transaction, which he placed in the dickey of his motorcycle. While completing paperwork with advocate Govind Dubey at the tehsil complex, a monkey approached the bike, opened the compartment, and removed the bundle of notes.Witnesses chased the monkey upon noticing it taking items from the dickey. The monkey swiftly climbed a nearby tree with the cash and began throwing the notes one by one. The money fell onto a tin shed and the road below, featuring Rs 500 notes. Visitors to the tehsil rushed to collect the flying currency, leading to the gathering of a large crowd.Upon learning of the situation, Chandra requested the public to return the money.

In an act of goodwill, people collected the funds, allowing him to recover approximately Rs 52,000. However, around Rs 28,000 remain unaccounted for, and efforts to locate the missing amount continue, with appeals for its return still ongoing.Throughout the incident, a video was recorded showing the notes descending from the tree and individuals gathering them. One person was seen climbing onto the tin shed to retrieve the money. This footage has contributed to the event's viral status on social media.
