The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE), in collaboration with Acharya Nagarjuna University and supported by the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), will host a five-day hands-on workshop on the design, development and delivery of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).
Scheduled from June 29 to July 3, 2026, the programme will bring together more than 60 faculty members, academic leaders, instructional designers and technology experts from universities and affiliated colleges across Andhra Pradesh.
A statement issued on Friday said the initiative aims to build a Statewide ecosystem for online learning by enabling faculty to create high-quality MOOCs for national and international platforms such as SWAYAM, NPTEL, edX, Coursera and MIT OpenCourseWare.
As part of the pilot phase, the APSCHE is introducing undergraduate MOOCs in emerging fields, including Artificial Intelligence and quantum technologies. AI-focused courses are being tailored for students across life sciences, commerce, management, humanities, mathematical sciences, computer science, data science, cybersecurity and related disciplines, while quantum technologies will be offered as a minor programme.
Each MOOC will carry four academic credits, addressing faculty shortages in frontier technologies.
The workshop follows an innovative six-quadrant pedagogical framework, incorporating e-content, e-tutorials, blended learning, assessments, interactive platforms and industry engagement.
The APSCHE also plans to establish a dedicated State MOOCs platform integrated with the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) and National Academic Depository (NAD), further strengthening Andhra Pradesh’s digital learning infrastructure and supporting the goals of NEP-2020 and RUSA.
