Fake movie trailer titled ‘Uncaged Fury’
Recently a fun and creative promotional video was released for the upcoming film ‘Mortal Kombat 2.’ Instead of a regular trailer, they shared a fake movie trailer titled Uncaged Fury, starring Karl Urban as Johnny Cage. This wasn’t an actual scene from the sequel but a humorous “movie within a movie” that highlights the character’s over-the-top personality and introduces Karl Urban’s version of him to the audience.
This fake trailer helped build excitement for Johnny Cage’s proper debut in ‘Mortal Kombat 2,’ which fans have been waiting for since the end of the first film.
About Johnny Cage
Johnny Cage is a well-known and beloved character from the Mortal Kombat video game franchise. He is a Hollywood action star with a flashy, confident attitude, famous for his sunglasses, martial arts skills, and funny one-liners, and in this fake trailer, Karl Urban plays him perfectly, wearing classic Johnny Cage sunglasses, walking into a dramatic warehouse setting, and showing off his action hero side with exaggerated flair.
About the trailer
The trailer begins with the voiceover introducing Cage through made-up movie titles like Cool Hand Cage, Hard to Cage, and Rebel Without a Cage. In the scene, Cage walks into a warehouse, confronts a group of bad guys, and gets angry when someone touches his sunglasses. He then beats them all up using just a metal pipe, reclaims his shades, and says his iconic line, “It’s showtime.”Though it’s just a parody, this fake trailer generated a lot of buzz.
The official “Mortal Kombat” movie Instagram page joined the fun by posting a cheeky caption that said the “F.” in “Johnny F. Cage” stands for “Fantastically Handsome.” This playful promotion was a smart way to give fans a taste of the character’s energy before seeing him in the full movie. In the first ‘Mortal Kombat’ movie, which was released in 2021, Johnny Cage didn’t appear onscreen, but there was a hint of his existence through a movie poster for Citizen Cage.
The ending showed Cole Young heading to Los Angeles to find new fighters, setting the stage for Johnny Cage’s entrance. Now, with Karl Urban officially in the role, fans are excited to see how he’ll bring the character to life in the sequel.
