Supporting the fight against tuberculosis (TB), BJP MP Lahar Singh Siroya adopted 500 TB patients under Ni-kshay Mitra in Bengaluru on Saturday in collaboration with industrialist J.C. Sharma.
Each patient will receive government-mandated, protein-rich nutritional kits delivered to their doorstep every month, supporting their recovery and overall well-being. BJP MLA Gopalaiah joined the initiative and adopted 150 TB patients.
Speaking at the event at Kamakshipalya Urban Health Centre, Mr. Siroya said he has adopted a total of 1,900 TB patients so far in Bengaluru, including the 500 patients adopted on Saturday with the support of community members and friends.
“In the coming months, we will adopt many more and do our part in ensuring Karnataka becomes TB-free by 2025,” he said.
The MP said if all 224 MLAs of Karnataka extend the same support, the State can be TB-free soon.
