Bhopal: Chief minister Mohan Yadav said Friday the Madhya Pradesh govt is considering introducing an Investigation Allowance for officers responsible for criminal investigations after studying similar provisions in other states.The proposed allowance covers additional responsibilities and expenses for crime investigations, including visits to crime scenes, security arrangements, evidence collection, transportation support for accused, witnesses and victims, photography, videography and digital evidence collection.Yadav, the home department in-charge minister, directed officers at all levels from senior leadership to constabulary to remain alert and proactive for robust law-and-order across the state.
He prioritised engaging IT consultants to address growing cybercrime challenges.The meeting reviewed Simhastha 2028 preparations including crowd management, law and order, VIP security and disaster management. Yadav emphasised control rooms should be permanent infrastructure, noting Ujjain’s religious significance.Yadav congratulated police for vigilant handling during Basant Panchami and Bhojshala developments. He directed strict enforcement of open meat sales restrictions and loudspeaker regulation.The meeting also reviewed establishing the Madhya Pradesh Police Selection and Recruitment Board and launching an AI-enabled ‘Safeguard MP’ system for senior citizens, vulnerable individuals and women’s safety.
