Mysuru-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar inspected the ongoing work for construction of a grade separator by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) at Manipal Hospital junction, also known as Kempegowda Circle on Saturday.

The NHAI Project Director, engineers from the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC), and Forest Department officials were present during the inspection.

The crucial junction is at the intersection of Outer Ring Road with the Bengaluru-Mysuru highway and witnesses a heavy density of traffic.

In a statement here, Mr. Yaduveer said the project will help eliminate the traffic bottleneck at this junction. “In addition, the entry and exit system on the Mysuru–Bengaluru road will also be improved under this project, providing greater convenience to all road users.”

He said he had instructed the NHAI officials to complete the ongoing work at the earliest and care be taken to ensure that the works do not cause inconvenience to the public.

“Since traffic movement is heavy during weekends, I will speak with traffic police officials about deploying additional personnel,” he said.

Mr. Yaduveer said he had also asked the authorities to ensure that the works are carried out with the highest quality standards and that the surrounding area is maintained in a clean condition.

It may be mentioned here that the approval for the project was granted on January 19 this year.
