MP man kills wife, hides body in bed storage, sleeps over it for a night

Indore: In a macabre incident, a man strangled his 35-year-old wife to death before stuffing the body in his bed’s storage space and slept over it for a night in the Rajgarh town of Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district, on Tuesday.Dhar SP Sachin Sharma said the incident was reported from the Shankarpura area of Rajgarh town, adding that a police team was dispatched to the couple’s house after a neighbour reported that the woman, 35-year-old Hina Kharadi, was missing since Tuesday morning and that her husband, Kamlesh Kharadi, was unable to give a satisfactory account of her whereabouts.The officers arrived to find the accused husband asleep on his bed.Suspecting foul play while questioning the husband, the police searched the room before their eyes fell on the bed’s storage compartment.The rotting remains of the missing woman were pulled out from the storage compartment, the police said, adding they were shifted to Sardarpur Civil Hospital for post-mortem, while the accused was taken into custody.On being grilled, the husband confessed to the murder telling the police that he fought frequently with his wife over suspicions of infidelity.

Police said a fresh quarrel broke out on Monday night, during which the accused, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, strangled her to death before hiding the body in the bed’s storage space.The sleuths added that their four children, three daughters and a son, left to spend the night at their aunt’s house after seeing their parents getting into another. The children, too, later corroborated the husband’s claim about frequent arguments with his wife.The police learnt that Kamlesh and Hina had been married for a decade, saying that further probe was underway to gather fresh leads in the case.
