Bidar MP Sagar Khandre has strongly criticised the Centre over irregularities and question paper leaks in the NEET examination accusing the government of “playing with the future of students”.

In a press statement issued on Thursday, Mr. Khandre said that incidents of question paper leaks and cancellation of examinations have severely eroded public confidence in the country’s education system and amounted to a major betrayal of students aspiring for medical education.

He said that more than 22 lakh students across the country have prepared for NEET examination with the dream of pursuing medical studies.

In Karnataka alone, over one lakh students have worked hard day and night to prepare for the examination, while parents have also made significant sacrifices for their children’s future.

“Despite this, the Central government has completely failed in conducting the examination in a transparent and secure manner,” he said.

Mr. Khandre said that recurring incidents of paper leaks, malpractices and administrative lapses in NEET examination are jeopardising the future of students year after year.

“While students spend the entire year preparing for the examination, their dreams are being shattered because of the government’s negligence and mismanagement. This is not merely an administrative failure but an injustice to the youth of the country,” he said.

He demanded a comprehensive and transparent investigation of the irregularities in NEET examination and sought strict action against those responsible.

Mr. Khandre also urged the government to establish a stronger and more reliable examination system to prevent recurrence of such incidents in future.
