A former senior employee of YouTube star Jimmy Donaldson has filed a lawsuit in North Carolina, accusing his companies of fostering a hostile work environment and retaliating against her after she raised concerns.

Lorrayne Mavromatis, who previously led Instagram operations, claims she was demoted and later dismissed after speaking out about alleged sexual harassment and weak workplace protections, according to a report by ABC News.

Allegations Of Retaliation

In the complaint cited by the outlet, her lawyers stated, “Plaintiff was a rising star promoted twice within her first year of employment, but after complaining about a workplace that suffered from a lack of basic employment protections in November 2023, she was subjected to multiple adverse employment actions, including a negative transfer, demotion, and termination."

Companies Deny Claims

The lawsuit names MrBeastYouTube LLC and GameChanger 24/7 LLC. A spokesperson has denied all allegations and said the companies will contest the case.

“This clout-chasing complaint is built on deliberate misrepresentations and categorically false statements, and we have the receipts to prove it. There is extensive evidence — including Slack and WhatsApp messages, company documents, and witness testimony — that unequivocally refutes her claims. We will not submit to opportunistic lawyers looking to manufacture a payday from us," the spokesperson was quoted as saying by the outlet.

Claims Of Harassment And Misconduct

Mavromatis alleged that a former CEO asked her to attend private meetings at his home and made remarks about her appearance. When she raised concerns about a client’s behaviour, she claimed she was told “she should be honored that the client was hitting on her."

A company spokesperson dismissed these claims as “fabricated for the sole purpose of sparking headlines."

Workplace Culture Under Scrutiny

She also alleged unequal treatment compared to male colleagues, saying she was told to “shut up" or “stop talking" during meetings and publicly belittled. The complaint further claims that senior executives mocked female contestants who raised concerns about lack of access to basic hygiene products.

Demotion And Dismissal

According to the lawsuit, her role was moved to a division described as a place where “careers go to die". She alleged she was fired less than three weeks after returning from maternity leave. Although she was told her position had been eliminated, she claims a male employee was later hired to perform similar duties.

“MrBeast terminated Plaintiff less than three weeks after she returned from FMLA and pregnancy-related leave, telling her that she was ‘too high caliber’ for the role she was demoted into after formally complaining about sexual harassment and the hostile work environment at MrBeast," the lawsuit said.

Legal Charges And Broader Context

The case includes allegations of wrongful termination, violation of the Family and Medical Leave Act, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Donaldson, known globally as MrBeast, runs the most-subscribed channel on YouTube, with over 479 million followers. He is also working on a game show project with Amazon MGM Studios.
