MSRDC announces a two-hour traffic blockade on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway near the Adoshi tunnel on Thursday

During the traffic blockage, all heavy and bulky motor vehicles travelling from Pune towards Mumbai will be halted at 59 km mark in the Bhor ghat and such vehicles will be halted at 30 km mark while travelling from Mumbai towards Pune.

Navi Mumbai: The MSRDC has announced a two-hour traffic blockage on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway near the Adoshi tunnel, 41 km from the Bhor ghat section in Khalapur taluka, Raigad, on Thursday between 12 noon and 2 pm.

The traffic blockage has been necessitated to undertake the work of removing loosened boulders stuck in the iron mesh installed on the hill slopes near the Adoshi tunnel to prevent landslides during the monsoon, thus ensuring the safety of drivers of heavy and bulky vehicles and citizens travelling in LMVs and passenger buses along the Bhor ghat section.MSRDC PRO Tushar Ahire said, "During the traffic blockage, all heavy and bulky motor vehicles travelling from Pune towards Mumbai will be halted at the 59 km mark in the Bhor ghat, and such vehicles will be halted at the 30 km mark while travelling from Mumbai towards Pune.

The light motor vehicles (LMVs), buses and passenger vehicles travelling from Pune towards Mumbai will continue to use the missing link from the 59 km mark, and such vehicles will have to travel from Mumbai to Pune via the missing link at the 39 km mark near Khopoli exit, while the LMVs, buses, passenger vehicles, as well as heavy and bulky motor vehicles travelling from Lonavala and Khandala regions towards Mumbai will be stopped at the 45 km mark on the Expressway.

"Ahire said, "Drivers are requested to plan their journey as per the traffic blockage time period. For assistance in case of any emergency, they can contact the Expressway Control Room on 9822498224 and the Highway Police helpline on 9833498334."
