Magadh University has been designated the nodal agency for Bihar Diwas cultural events in Patna from March 22-24. Five state universities will participate, showcasing co-curricular activities like debates on Artificial Intelligence and extra-curricular performances including classical and folk dance, drama, and music. Rangoli and Mehandi competitions will also be held, with themes focusing on Bihar's progress and prosperity.
Gaya: The state govt has notified Magadh University as the nodal agency for Bihar Diwas-related cultural events to be held in Patna between March 22 and 24. MU registrar Binod Kumar Mangalam has been made the nodal officer for the event.According to Mangalam, altogether five universities of the state will be participating in the event and besides Magadh varsity, others are Patna University, Patliputra University and Maulana Mazharul Haq Arabic and Persian University and Aryabhatta Knowledge University. The MU registrar would be coordinating the event management.Giving details, Mangalam said the programme format will include both co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
In the co-curricular section debate and speech competition etc will be organised. The debate will be held on Artificial Intelligence. Magadh University, it may be recalled, recently established an AI centre on university premises.The extra-curricular part comprises dance, drama and music. Dance and music will comprise both classical and folk varieties. Rangoli competition would also be organised, said Mangalam.
The Rangoli theme would be ‘Barhta Bihar, Ujjawal Bihar’, said the nodal officer. For the Mehandi section of the event, ‘Swamvar’ has been selected as the theme, he added.Conceding that too much is to be done at a very short notice, the MU registrar hoped that the enthusiasm of the participants will make up for time constraints. He attributed the selection of MU as the nodal agency to the management skills of vice-chancellor S P Shahi.
