Nida Khan was arrested on May 7.

Nida Khan, a TCS employee accused in the controversial Nashik conversion and workplace harassment case, was finally arrested by Nashik Police from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar after allegedly spending over a month moving from one city to another to avoid arrest. She evaded arrest for over 40 days.

After her arrest on May 7, Khan was produced before the Nashik Road Sessions Court on Friday. The court sent her to police custody till May 11.

How Did Nida Khan Manage to Escape?

According to police sources, Nida Khan allegedly fled Nashik the moment she sensed the investigation tightening around her.

She first escaped to Mumbai and reportedly stayed in Bhiwandi for a few days to avoid being tracked by the police. As the case gained attention and pressure mounted, she then shifted to her husband’s residence in Mumbra.

In a bid to avoid arrest, Khan moved to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, where she remained in hiding until Nashik Police, with the help of local crime branch officials, finally traced and arrested her.

Police also alleged that local AIMIM corporator Matin Patel provided shelter to Khan and her family during this period. Patel has now been named as an accused in the case for allegedly harbouring her.

Nida Khan’s Role In TCS Conversion Racket

Police claim Khan played an active role in influencing women employees by encouraging them to follow Islamic practices, including offering Namaz, wearing burqas, and consuming non-vegetarian food. Prosecutors also alleged that one of the victims was being prepared for religious conversion, with plans to change her name to “Haniya" and eventually send her to Malaysia.

Police are now examining social media links, WhatsApp chats, Instagram reels, and YouTube videos allegedly shared with victims as part of what police suspect could be a larger conversion network. The probe has also revealed possible links to an alleged racket operating from Malegaon in Nashik district.

Amid the growing controversy, TCS reiterated that it follows a zero-tolerance policy towards harassment and coercion at the workplace. The company has already suspended employees allegedly linked to the case.

The Maharashtra government has also ordered stricter implementation of the POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Act across workplaces, directing companies and institutions to strengthen internal complaint mechanisms for women employees.
