MUMBAI: A 62-year-old man was arrested by the Government Railway Police (GRP) at Dadar for allegedly touching a 19-year-old female commuter inappropriately. The accused, DG Makhaan, is a Delhi resident and works as a driver.The incident occurred on 13 September around 12.30 pm. The complainant was travelling with a friend in the general compartment of a UP CSMT fast local. When the train reached platform number 12 at Dadar station, the complainant and her friend began to alight with other passengers.
The complainant later told police that the coach was crowded and the accused took advantage of the situation to touch her inappropriately.The complainant subsequently approached the Dadar GRP, and an FIR was registered under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The accused was traced and taken into custody. He was produced before a railway court, which remanded him in judicial custody.Police said the complainant is a student.
