Mumbai Customs has seized 64 kgs of hydroponic weed.

MUMBAI: The Customs at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport have busted a major drug smuggling racket and have seized 64 kgs of Hydroponic weed worth Rs 64 crores from 4 passenger including a foreign national arriving from Bangkok.Acting on the specific intelligence and Advance Passenger Information System (APIS) profiling, the agency intercepted a passenger, detained the passenger and during the search of his baggage resulted in recovery of 64.394 kilograms of suspected hydroponic weed, a high-grade narcotic substance. The seized contraband is estimated to be worth approximately ₹64.39 crore in the illicit market said an official.

.The drugs were recovered from four passengers, including one foreign national, who had arrived from Bangkok. All four individuals were taken into custody.Customs officials stated that the accused have been arrested under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. Further investigation is underway to identify the source, supply chain, and possible international links involved in the smuggling operation
