Panic grips commuters as a fresh rockfall hits Parshuram Ghat; authorities shut the Dhamandevi-to-Parshuram Ghat stretch on the Mumbai-Goa Highway as a safety measure.

A massive boulder came crashing down onto the road near Dhamandevi, close to Parshuram Ghat.
Barely had the Mumbai-Goa Highway reopened after nearly 44 hours when a fresh landslide struck, causing significant damage and slowing traffic to a crawl. The four-day-long relentless rain finally took a break on Tuesday, even as rivers in Raigad, Roha and Chiplun crossed the danger mark, keeping authorities on high alert.
For commuters travelling on the Mumbai-Goa Highway, the early hours of the day turned terrifying when a massive boulder came crashing down onto the road near Dhamandevi, close to Parshuram Ghat. Fortunately, timely precautionary measures taken by the administration in advance helped avert a major tragedy, and no casualties have been reported.
