MUMBAI: The Sahar police booked a 26-year-old woman for allegedly providing false information about her date of birth and other personal details to obtain a passport and attempting to travel to London using the fraudulently obtained document.A Look Out Circular (LOC) was already issued against her.The accused was identified as Rehnuma Imtiyaz Patel, a resident of Malad East. She planned to travel to London for employment.According to the FIR, on July 4, at around 9. 50am, Patel arrived at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport to board IndiGo flight 6E-001 to London, scheduled to depart at 12. 26pm.She presented her passport and boarding pass at the immigration counter for verification.During verification, the immigration officer found that the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) issued an LOC against her. Authorities suspected she obtained multiple passports using different names and identities. The wing in charge and the duty officer conducted a detailed inquiry. The investigation revealed that Patel obtained her first passport in 2017 using her actual date of birth, December 15, 2000.

However, as she wanted to travel to London for work and believed that younger applicants had better employment prospects there, she allegedly approached the Ahmedabad Passport Office in 2020 and applied for another passport using a fake date of birth, December 6, 2005, and the name Rehnuma Imran Iqbal. She allegedly obtained the second passport using the forged details. The inquiry further revealed that she renewed the second passport in 2024 and attempted to travel from Mumbai to London on July 4, 2026, using the fraudulently obtained passport.
