Mumbai has been experiencing torrential rainfalls for the past three days. The rains have gotten more intense causing waterlogging, disruption in local train services and several Indian airlines have issued travel advisory as Mumbai continues getting drenched.
As per local news reports, the rain has claimed as many as seven innocent lives and left daily life disturbed on a severe level. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Mumbai. As per ANI reports, Mumbai received around 300 millimetre (mm) of rain and a red alert is valid for Konkan and Ghat regions for the next few hours. The weather reports also suggest that the rail is likely to continue in Mumbai and neighbouring districts including Thane, Palghar and Raigad, which are under “red” alert (Tuesday). Meanwhile, Indigo issued a travel advisory which reads, "Travel AdvisoryContinuous rainfall in #Mumbai is currently affecting air traffic, causing delays in flight operations. Due to air traffic congestion, some flights are currently being held. Rest assured, our teams are working closely with air traffic control and will get you moving as soon as conditions allow. Before heading to the airport, please check your flight status on our website or app.
Also, do allow some extra travel time, roads are likely to be slow-moving.

Akasa Air too took to X and posted a travel advisory reading,#TravelUpdate: Due to heavy rainfall in certain parts of Mumbai, Hyderabad, Goa, Pune, and Guwahati, we anticipate slow moving traffic and congestion on roads leading to the airport. To ensure a seamless travel experience, we request you to plan for additional travel time to reach the airport well in time for your flight. SpiceJet too shared the advisory on X, #WeatherUpdate: Due to bad weather in Mumbai (BOM), all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights may get affected. Passengers are requested to keep a check on their flight status via http://spicejet.com/#status .
The low-lying regions in Mumbai are severely affected with the incessant rains. It has delayed local train services and traffic has gone worse at several places because of heavy rains. Schools and colleges remain shut in Mumbai on Tuesday.A day after heavy showers battered Mumbai, its residents again faced the rain fury on Tuesday as various roads were submerged and traffic movement was disrupted since early morning.
