MUMBAI: The iconic Habib Hospital in Dongri, Mumbai, being run by Habib Esmail Hospital & Medical Trust, has turned 90.To celebrate this milestone and, as part of celebrations the mark the pious occasion of the 1500th birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (September 5,) which is coinciding with several important national celebrations such as Dr.
Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan’s birthday (celebrated as Teachers’ Day) and the Ganesh Festival, the Trust's Chairman Javed Shroff and other trustees, along with the medical director, have announced a free cardiac health camp at the newly renovated and upgraded Habib Hospital.The camp will be held from 5th to 15th September 2025, offering free consultations, diagnostics and access to world-class cardiac care facilities for all, as part of the hospital’s continued humanitarian mission.
This initiative reflects the ongoing commitment of the chairman and the trustees who have consistently championed medical equality and service to humanity — a legacy that has been carried forward with conviction and compassion ever since the the Chairman took charge of hospital affairs during the COVID-19 pandemic. Their leadership has ushered in a transformative era for Habib Hospital, focused on accessibility, infrastructure, and excellence in patient care.
Recently, the inauguration of the new Cath Lab and CCU facility was attended by leading religious scholars like Maulana Aijaz Kashmiri, Maulana Mahmood Daryabadi, social activist like Haji Farid Shaikh of Aman Committee, Salim Alware and other dignitaries, including Member of Parliament Arvind Sawant and CWC member and former minister Arif Naseem Khan. They offered heartfelt tributes for the remarkable work carried out under the leadership of the Chairman and trustees, medical director, and the entire medical team of Habib Esmail Hospital & Medical Trust."With state-of-the-art cardiac care now fully operational, including angiographies, angioplasties, and open-heart surgeries, the hospital invites all members of the community to benefit from this free cardiac camp, a pioneering initiative rooted in compassion and inclusion," said Shroff.A significant achievement during this transformative phase is the successful implementation of the MJPJAY (Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojana) scheme, which will benefit eligible citizens, including Orange, Yellow, and White ration card holders. Steps are also being taken to bring the Ayushman Bharat scheme into effect at the hospital. These milestones have been made possible through the tireless efforts and vision of the management.
