Murderers punishing police: BJP slams Congress over top cop's suspension

The Karnataka BJP has sharply criticised the Congress-led state government over the suspension of Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayanand, calling it an unprecedented attack on the police force. “For the first time in the history of Karnataka, cold-blooded murderers are punishing top police officers,” the party posted on X.

Dayanand, who was serving as Bengaluru City Police Commissioner, was suspended a day after the deadly stampede outside M Chinnaswamy Stadium killed eleven people and left several others injured.

The event was organised to celebrate the Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) maiden Indian Premier League victory.
