In an interview with India Today, Mustafa Ahmed was asked about why his character Rizwan and Ranveer Singh's character Hamza Ali Mazari pretended not to know each other when Gaurav Gera's Aalam introduced them in 'Dhurandhar'.Mustafa answered the question that had been raised by several viewers on social media. He said, "We didn't want to make it obvious that we know each other.
But eagle-eyed fans did notice that there is a small nod of the head when we shake hands. It was just so natural for us, and if I can take some credit, our performance was quite impressive."

In the same interview, Mustafa Ahmed talked about the love he is receiving for his performance in 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge'. He said, "I was just taking a flight, and people walked up to me asking for a picture. They also told me how much they loved the movie and my performance.
I am Rizwan for them, and it's a great feeling." He went on to add, "I think I will probably have to change my name to Rizwan."The actor shared someone asking him about when he came to India and why he was traveling in an autorickshaw. He said, "They look puzzled and ask me, 'Aap India kab aaye?' (When did you come back to India)? How come you travel in an auto?'"Mustafa further shared that it's hilarious and amusing to see how a movie can have an impact on the audience.
He added that people are quite invested in the characters of the espionage thriller.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, the movie has grossed over Rs 1400 crore at the global box office. Domestically, the espionage thriller has raked in over Rs 930 crore at the box office. The film is inching towards the Rs 1000 crore mark. It was released in theaters on March 19, 2026.
