MVA said govt has failed to provide satisfactory answers on drought and farmers’ issues

Mumbai: Boycotting govt’s customary tea party on the eve of the monsoon session, MVA alleged that the loan waiver scheme is fraudulent and sought that farmers’ 7/12 land extracts be cleared.

It also accused govt of taking “56% commission” from projects and demanded that it answer every issue raised by the opposition.It said govt has failed to provide satisfactory answers on drought, farmers’ issues, increasing atrocities on women, deteriorating law and order, and the growing drug network in the state. “The state is facing a drought crisis. Sowing has been delayed. The problems facing farmers are increasing.

Govt should declare a drought. The loan waiver announced by govt is fraudulent and farmers have been trapped in terms and conditions,” said Sena (UBT) MLA Bhaskar Jadhav.Congress MLC Satej Patil alleged contractors are being forced to pay large amounts of commission to get bills for state projects. “Contractors’ bills worth over Rs 1 lakh crore are pending. Funds for Jal Jeevan Mission have been cut and many development works have been stalled.

The state’s financial condition has become worrisome as the debt burden has reached Rs 9.5 lakh crore.”NCP (SP) MLA Jayant Patil said law and order in the state has collapsed. “Atrocities on women have increased. The quantities of drugs peddled have increased tremendously in the state. In such cases, the small fry get arrested, but the masterminds get away. The temple lands scam was raised in the last session, but no action has been taken.”
