French President Emmanuel Macron sent a defiant message after twin explosions took place near a hotel in Damascus where he spent the night, saying his visit continues despite the possible security scare.
Two explosions took place in central Damascus on Tuesday near the Four Seasons hotel where Macron spent the night, as per reports. One of the bombs was placed in a dumpster and another in a vehicle. However, Macron had already left the hotel for the presidential palace.
“Nothing can smother the aspiration of Syrian women and men to live in a fully sovereign, safe, pluralistic, and united Syria. This morning I met Syria in all its diversity. I saw dignity, courage, and determination," he said in a post on X.
“My visit continues," he added.
