Nagarjuna's next project is slated for a grand Sankranthi 2027 release on January 15th. This date holds significance as his blockbuster 'Soggade Chinni Nayana' also premiered on the same day. While details remain scarce, anticipation is high, especially with rumors of director Kalyan Krishna Kurasala potentially returning.
Tollywood star Nagarjuna was last seen in the Rajinikanth starrer ‘Coolie’. The makers have now announced the release date of his upcoming project. The production banner confirmed that it will be hitting the big screens during the Sankranthi festival in 2027.
Sankranthi 2027 release announced
Talking to their X (formerly Twitter) handle, the maker shared a post in Telugu as they wrote, “వాసివాడి తస్సాదియ్యా వచ్చే 15th జనవరి 2027 సంక్రాంతికి సోగ్గాళ్లు వస్తే పండగ ఇంకా కలర్ ఫుల్ గా ఉంటాది కదా. డేట్ మార్క్ చేసుకోండి”. Loosely translated in English, it read, “aasivaadi Tassadiyya. If these stylish guys arrive this Sankranti on 15th January 2027, the festival will be even more colorful, right? Mark the date!”

Rumors regarding the film
Although the film’s title, cast and other crew are yet to be known, there would be a lot of anticipation due to its release on Sankranti.
Sankranthi season is always very big. Many star heroes release their films during this festival. Nagarjuna's choosing this date has made everyone buzz around it.Interestingly, the date 15 January is very special for Nagarjuna. His 2016 blockbuster ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’ was released on the same day. It became a huge hit. Later, its sequel ‘Bangarraju’ also released during Sankranthi in January 2022. That film also did very well.
There is also talk that director Kalyan Krishna Kurasala may return. He directed ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’. If he comes back, fans expect another family entertainer. Still, the makers have not confirmed anything.

At the same time, Nagarjuna is working on his 100th film. It is directed by Ra Karthik. According to a report by Deccan Chronicle, the legendary star recently mentioned that actress Tabu was keen to join the film the moment she heard about his 100th project. “We go back a very long way. I’ve known her from the time she started. And when Tabu got to know I was doing my hundredth film, she wanted to be a part of it,” he said.
