Vijayawada: Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has decided to release a series of progress reports highlighting the achievements of NDA govt during its first two years in office.
Naidu directed ministers and officials to prepare detailed action taken reports on key issues.
The first report under the initiative, focusing on the power sector, will be released on Monday. The reports, titled “Progress Report 2024-26”, will showcase how the state moved towards development after the govt assumed office in 2024. The reports will also explain the measures taken on the seven white papers released earlier by the chief minister on issues including the financial condition of the state, Polavaram project, capital Amaravati, power sector, law and order, mining and excise sectors.Reviewing the preparation of the reports with ministers and senior officials at the camp office on Sunday, Naidu said the objective was to take the achievements of the public govt directly to the people. He said the progress reports should explain how the state was brought back on the path of growth and how reforms were implemented across various sectors.Naidu said significant reforms have been introduced in several departments over the last two years and people should be informed about welfare schemes, development initiatives and governance reforms taken up by the govt.
He said the progress reports would not only highlight the govt’s achievements but also help counter misinformation and fake news by presenting facts about the administration’s performance.Apart from the seven white paper-related action taken reports, three additional reports will focus on development, good governance and welfare-empowerment. The development report will cover sectors such as agriculture, industries, infrastructure and tourism.
The good governance report will detail new policies, administrative reforms and governance initiatives introduced after the govt came to power.
The welfare-empowerment report will highlight welfare programmes and initiatives such as P4.A total of 10 reports are being prepared. Of these, four major reports covering finance, development, welfare and governance will be released by Naidu himself. Ministers will release the first six reports, after which chief minister Naidu will place the important four reports before the public. The chief Minister directed officials to complete the process and release all reports by July 18. He also instructed that all the reports should later be compiled into a book for wider public access. Naidu said progress reports should be released every year as part of maintaining transparency in governance.
