The Design Village (TDV), together with design firm Archohm (AO), in collaboration with the National Gandhi Museum (NSM), is reimagining the way India's most sacred cultural legacy connects with younger audiences while remaining deeply rooted in its historical soul.
The National Gandhi Museum has launched a special exhibition titled "Gandhi: The Journalist, Voice of Truth in Print" that highlighted Mahatma Gandhi's role as a writer and journalist.Mahatma Gandhi's granddaughter, Tara Gandhi Bhattacharjee, was also present at the event, proving the relevance of Gandhi’s ideals even today.The exhibition explores the lesser-known role of Gandhi’s as a writer and editor and shows how his pen emerged as a powerful instrument of resistance. The centerpiece of the exhibition was the letter written to Adolf Hitler in 1939, which is a great example of his remarkable act of moral courage, presented through an audio narration by Amitabh Bachchan.To refurbish the museum experience, the Gandhi Shop has also been revamped to emphasize self-reliance and craftsmanship. The newly opened café, operated by the NGO Savera, serves satvik food inspired by Gandhian ideology, which promotes sustainable livelihoods and reflects Gandhi's principles.Dr. Annamalai, the Director of the National Gandhi Museum, said, "Amitabh Bachchan introduces National Gandhi Museum and the special exhibition 'GANDHI: THE JOURNALIST Voice of Truth in Print' in his own voice."
Under the transformative vision of Sourabh Gupta, founder of The Design Village and principal architect at Studio Archohm, the National Gandhi Museum is transformed with global standards and innovation, with the support of Umang BediCo-Founder at VerSe Innovation (Dailyhunt | Josh) and advisor at The Design village. Bringing Gandhi’s life and message alive for visitors, Amitabh Bachchan has lent his iconic voice to narrate the exhibitions, making the experience both informative and deeply resonant.Mridu Sahai Patnaik, co-founder of The Design Village, said, “Mahatma Gandhi’s worldwide influence on nonviolence, justice, and self-reliance continues to resonate deeply in the modern era.
