Rui Hachimura hit his first career game-winner on Thursday night, draining a buzzer-beating three to lift the Los Angeles Lakers past the Toronto Raptors 123-120 — and in the process, ended LeBron James’ streak of 1,297 consecutive games with at least 10 points.
With Luka Doncic absent, Austin Reaves took over, posting a monster 44 points and 10 assists, while James added eight points and 11 assists, including the no-look pass to Hachimura for the game-winner.
“That was crazy," Hachimura said. “I never had a game-winner before."
James, in his record-breaking 23rd NBA season, didn’t hesitate to make the smart play, even if it meant the streak ended.
“Just playing the game the right way. Always make the right play. That’s how I was taught," he said.
The Raptors had seven players in double figures, with Scottie Barnes scoring 23 and Brandon Ingram 20, but the loss dropped them to third in the East, behind Detroit and New York.
The Lakers hit the road next to face the Boston Celtics, who dominated the Wizards 146-101 despite missing Jaylen Brown. Derrick White led Boston with 30 points, seven rebounds, and nine assists.

Meanwhile, in Philadelphia, rookie VJ Edgecombe had a clutch put-back with just 0.9 seconds left to lift the 76ers to a 99-98 win over the Golden State Warriors. Tyrese Maxey led Philly with 35 points, including a game-saving block at the buzzer.
The Warriors, missing Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler, also lost Draymond Green mid-game to a foot injury but got a bench spark from Pat Spencer, who scored 16.
