NDA Candidate CP Radhakrishnan Files Nomination For V-P Polls In Presence Of PM Modi

The decision to nominate CP Radhakrishnan as the Vice President candidate was taken unanimously during a key meeting of NDA floor leaders.

National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate for the Vice President post, CP Radhakrishnan, on Wednesday filed his nomination in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

PM Modi and other NDA floor leaders submitted the first set of nomination papers.

The nomination will be filed in four sets, each carrying the signatures of 20 proposers and 20 seconders. While the first set will have PM Modi’s signature as the chief proposer, the remaining sets will include signatures from Union ministers and senior NDA leaders, reflecting a broad consensus across the alliance.

The decision to nominate CP Radhakrishnan was taken unanimously during a key meeting of NDA floor leaders held at the residence of Union Minister Pralhad Joshi with all leaders pledging their full backing for Radhakrishnan’s candidature.

VP Polls Next Month

The Vice Presidential election is scheduled to take place on September 9, and with the NDA holding a clear numerical edge in Parliament, Radhakrishnan is widely seen as the frontrunner.

If elected, he will succeed the outgoing Vice President and assume one of the highest constitutional positions in the country.
