NDA will fulfil Nitin’s vision for Bankipur, says Samrat

Patna: CM Samrat Choudhary on Thursday launched a sharp attack on RJD national working president Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor while campaigning for BJP candidate Abhishek Kumar ‘Bunty’, who filed his nomination papers for the July 30 Bankipur assembly bypoll.

The CM assured voters the NDA govt would fulfil BJP president Nitin Nabin’s unfinished vision for the constituency.

The bypoll was necessitated after Nitin was elected to the Rajya Sabha.Addressing his first formal public meeting in support of Abhishek, Samrat said the NDA govt never discriminated against anyone and worked for every section of society. “The NDA govt provides 125 units of free electricity to the poor as well as Tejashwi.

It has always been the NDA govt which took care of all sections of society,” he said.Without naming Kishor, Samrat said many people with no connection to Bihar or its politics entered the electoral fray and appealed to voters to remain cautious of such “impostors”.Highlighting the NDA govt’s development initiatives, Samrat referred to the 26-km J P Ganga Path (Marine Drive) in Patna and said there were plans to extend it by another 140 km on both sides.

He also referred to BJP stalwarts Dr Shyama Prasad Mookerjee, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, L K Advani and Kailashpati Mishra, saying they had always stood behind decisions aimed at the welfare of the poor.He highlighted the Narendra Modi govt’s decision to provide 10% reservation in jobs and educational institutions to the economically weaker sections among upper castes while continuing welfare measures for Dalits, backward classes and extremely backward classes. Abhishek, the BJP nominee, belongs to the Kayastha community, which has a sizeable presence in the constituency.Describing Abhishek as a grassroots BJP functionary, Samrat said he was the youngest and the only grassroots worker among the candidates contesting the seat vacated by the BJP’s youngest national president.Several senior NDA functionaries attended the meeting to display alliance unity. They included deputy chief minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, JD(U) national working president Sanjay Kumar Jha, RLM chief Upendra Kushwaha, BJP state president Sanjay Saraogi, HAM(S) state president Anil Kumar, LJP(RV) MP Shambhavi Choudhary, ministers Vijay Kumar Sinha and Sanjay Paswan, and MP Sanjay Jaiswal.Vijay appealed to voters to hand the NDA a record victory margin in Bankipur. Sanjay Jha said the alliance remained united and Bihar was scaling new heights of development under Samrat’s leadership. Saraogi said the transformation of Bankipur over the past 15 years reflected the policies of the BJP and the NDA govt. Kushwaha expressed confidence that Abhishek’s victory was certain, while Sanjay Paswan urged party workers to reach every voter.

Jaiswal appealed to the electorate to surpass the 43% polling and 51,000-vote victory margin recorded in the 2025 assembly election.
