Neetu Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor’s life together

Neetu and Rishi Kapoor tied the knot in 1980. In 2017, Rishi released his autobiography titled Khullam Khulla: Rishi Kapoor Uncensored, which he co-authored with Meena Iyer.

The actor was diagnosed with leukemia in 2018 and travelled to New York City for treatment. After a year of successful therapy, he returned to India the following year.

Rishi Kapoor’s passing

However, on April 29, 2020, he was admitted to Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital due to breathing issues. He passed away the next day, on April 30, 2020, following a relapse of leukemia, just a day after the legendary actor Irrfan Khan’s passing.

Neetu Kapoor’s family protects Rishi Kapoor’s legacy

The Kapoor family has reportedly taken legal action to copyright the late veteran actor’s name after his passing. According to media reports, the decision was made to prevent the unauthorised or commercial use of his name and legacy. It is said that the family has now officially received approval for the copyright. According to India Today, the move ensures anyone wishing to use Rishi Kapoor’s name for commercial, professional, or public purposes will need prior permission from the family.
