A 37-second footage, recorded by a CCTV camera, showed the plane descending sharply, followed by a sudden flash as it hit the ground.

Baramati Plane Crash: A new CCTV footage has surfaced showing the moment the Learjet 45 aircraft carrying Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, plunged and burst into a fireball near the Baramati airport on Wednesday morning.

A 37-second footage, recorded by a CCTV camera installed at a home in Gojubavi Grampanchayat in Baramati, showed the aircraft tilting to its left moments before the crash. The video showed the aircraft then descended and bursted into a huge fireball.

Earlier today, another video surfaced showed the plane descending sharply, followed by a sudden flash as it hit the ground. Soon, a fireball can be seen rising from the crash site, along with thick plumes of dark smoke that quickly envelop the surrounding area.

Baramati Plane Crash

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and four other persons on board an aircraft were killed after it crashed near the Baramati airport on Wednesday.

According to Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), there were five passengers, including Pawar, his Personal Security Officer and an attendant, along with two crew members (pilot in-command and the first officer) on board.

The aircraft, Learjet 45, on which Pawar was travelling, was scheduled to take off at 7 AM instead, it took off at 8:10 AM. Near Baramati, the pilots were informed about weather conditions. It was cleared for landing after a go-around due to poor visibility, but having finally received a clearance it did not give any read-back to the ATC, and moments later burst into flames on the edge of the runway.

Maharashtra will observe three days of state mourning following the death of the deputy chief minister.

A high-level probe has been launched with a team from the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) analysing flight recorders, aircraft systems, crew records, and ATC data to determine the exact cause of the mishap.
