Germany head coach Julian Nagelsmann backed Liverpool recruit Florian Wirtz to shine for the Merseyside club following an ordinary start to life in England.

The 38-year-old Nagelsmann called Wirtz a key player in his squad and threw his weight behind the crafty midfielder, who was roped in for a whopping 125 million Euros.

“You have to look at the whole gang playing around him," Nagelsmann said ahead of Germany’s World Cup qualifiers against Slovakia on Thursday.

“They’ve spent a few euros on the top squad they’ve got there and you don’t always stand out as an individual," he added.

Liverpool have splashed the cash this season bringing multiple big names including Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Giorgi Mamardashvili, Giovanni Leoni, Freddie Woodman and Alexander Isak.

“Rather it’s the overall construct which should work — and it does work," the former Bayern Munich coahc added.

“It’s normal that you need a bit more time in a new culture, a new league, in a new stadium at a new club."

“He’ll play some great games there. He’ll score, he’ll assist. He can start that with us tomorrow," he explained.

Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich also opened up about the purchasing power of the English top-flight which splashed over 3 billion Euros in the recently concluded market.

“To be honest, we can’t really grasp it either, and we can’t influence it. But it’s the market," the German midfielder said.

“There are financial resources there (in England), both through ownership and TV money," he added.

“Apparently they can pull the money out of their sleeves very, very easily," Kimmich concluded.
