Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu virtually inaugurated, from Kadapa district’s Jammalamadugu, the Jindal Steel Works (JSW) industrial park at Boddavara in Vizianagaram district on Friday. Following the inauguration, Minister for MSME and NRI Affairs Kondapalli Srinivas highlighted the industrial park’s significance for employment opportunities to the locals and stated that it would provide employment to as many as 45,000 people in the next two years.
Mr. Srinivas, along with the in-charge Minister and Minister for Home Vangalapudi Anitha, lit the lamp at the inaugural session. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the S. Kota constituency would become a major industrial hub as many entrepreneurs would start their industries in the park developed by JSW group.
He asserted that many people who had migrated to other places would come back to the Vizianagaram district as the government has taken up a series of developmental activities, such as the construction of the international airport at Bhogapuram and industries.
He said that the park, built at a cost of nearly ₹531 crore in a sprawling 1,160 acres of land, would resemble Sri City, an integrated business area developed in Tirupati.
Ms Anitha said that the CM had placed special focus on the development of North Andhra districts. She stated that brisk economic activity would create employment opportunities for locals residing in and around the industrial park.
Meanwhile, Member of Legislative Council Indukuri Raghuraju, who fought for the farmers’ issues in the last decade, said that the land owners should reap the benefits of the development, requesting the company to meet all obligations, such as providing jobs for local youngsters while providing training programmes to meet the expectations of the industries to be set up in the park.
