New Uttar Pradesh DGP outlines blueprint to improve policing 

The newly appointed Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP), Rajeev Krishna, on Monday outlined a 10-point comprehensive blueprint in Lucknow to elevate policing standards, vowing zero tolerance towards crime, improved public service delivery, and focused use of advanced technology, including artificial intelligence.

Addressing his first press conference since assuming office on May 31, the 1991-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer expressed gratitude to U.P. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for trusting him to lead the world’s largest “provincial police force.”

Mr. Krishna added, “Zero tolerance towards crime will remain the bedrock of our law enforcement strategy. We aim to create a secure environment for all citizens.”

He said AI will be used in a comprehensive way to increase efficiency. “We will ensure that every voice is heard and every complaint is resolved empathetically and swiftly.” The DGP said regular training can help any organisation improve productiveness and develop capabilities to counter new challenges in a rapidly changing world. Mr. Krishna becomes the fifth consecutive officer to hold the top post in an acting capacity.
