The latest in NewJeans’ case against their management company ADOR seems to be getting messier. The two parties have reportedly not yet been able to reach an agreement that benefits them both.NewJeans and their management company fail to reach an agreementNewJeans and their former agency had another hearing on Thursday. This marks the fourth hearing altogether. As per the Korea JoongAng Daily reports, the attempt at this trial was to ensure that both NewJeans as well as their company reach a mutual understanding; however, the matter was not resolved. The hearing took place at the Seoul Central District Court in the afternoon on August 14, and was attended by the legal representatives of both the group and the company.
NewJeans members Minji and Danielle were also present at the court hearing. They had each presented their side of the argument and their needs and requirements for reaching an understanding. Since this attempt did not bring out anything fruitful, the next hearing has been set for September 11.
About the legal battleThe case itself began almost a year ago when the girl group alleged that their contracts with the company had become obsolete due to the fact that terms in the contract were breached by the company.
The opposing argument was presented, which stated that no such thing has happened, and in return, their company filed for an injunction, citing that the group does not promote individually without the company. The court had ruled in favour of the company, and the girls’ promotions for their new song ‘Pit Stop’ came to a halt. Now, in recent hearings, after the court ruled that the contracts are not null and void, NewJean’ legal representation has cited that the abuse that the girls went through should be considered. They have also shared that the group will join the company once the former CEO, Min Hee Jin, is reinstated.
