A newlywed bride's shocking betrayal in Alwar has left her husband and family in distress. Poison, stolen jewellery, and hidden pasts unravel a web of lies that could shock the community.

Rekha was still married and had two children from her previous marriage.
Rajasthan's Alwar witnessed a shocking case of betrayal as a newlywed bride, Rekha Kaur, allegedly poisoned her mother-in-law and absconded with jewellery and cash just a month after her wedding. The incident has left her husband, Vikramjeet Singh, and his family in deep shock.
Vikramjeet, who had married Rekha on May 26, 2025, in a ceremony at a Gurudwara, had spent over five lakh rupees on the wedding. The couple had signed a court-sanctioned live-in relationship agreement on May 9, 2025, based on assurances from Rekha and her aunt, Pinki Kaur, that her divorce from her first husband was final.
But the assurances proved false.
Rekha was still married and had two children from her previous marriage. Soon after the wedding, her behaviour shifted.
On June 23, 2025, she reportedly mixed phenyl into a khichdi meal served to her mother-in-law, sending her to the hospital. While the family was distracted, Rekha allegedly took jewellery worth several lakh rupees, including gold and silver necklaces, bangles, and rings, along with 30,000 rupees in cash, and fled the house.
A HISTORY OF DECEPTION
Investigations revealed that Rekha, with the assistance of her aunt Pinki Kaur from Sirsa, Haryana, had allegedly ensnared multiple young men in similar schemes. Pinki Kaur reportedly warned Vikramjeet that he could not challenge Rekha and that she would marry again using the same methods.
Vikramjeet’s attempts to seek police help were initially unsuccessful. He lodged a complaint with the Aravali Vihar police station on July 14, 2025, but no immediate action was taken. Subsequently, he petitioned the court to pursue justice against the duo.
VICTIM’S ACCOUNT
Vikramjeet explained that Rekha had convinced him that she could facilitate the marriage legally despite her past. “I trusted her completely. Everything changed within weeks. The poisoning, the theft, the lies, it was all premeditated,” he said.
Authorities confirmed that Rekha and her aunt had allegedly engaged in a pattern of fraud, targeting multiple men in Haryana and Rajasthan. The investigation is ongoing, and police have indicated that after the court process, action will be taken against the accused.
The case has sent shockwaves through Alwar, highlighting the devastating impact of deceit within personal relationships.
