‘How Can Airlines Charge Rs 40,000’: Delhi HC To Centre Over Spike In Airfare During IndiGo Crisis

The Delhi High Court on Wednesday questioned the Centre over soaring airfares and its handling of the ongoing IndiGo crisis, asking why passengers were forced to pay up to Rs 40,000 for a one-way ticket. Hearing a PIL seeking support and refunds for passengers affected by the cancellation of hundreds of IndiGo flights, the Bench of Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela said, “It is quite a crisis," and asked why the situation was allowed to precipitate in the first place.
